OpenAI Introduces GPT-5.2

OpenAI introduces GPT‑5.2, their most capable model series yet for professional knowledge work. It is better at creating spreadsheets, building presentations, writing code, perceiving images, and more. In ChatGPT, GPT‑5.2 Instant, Thinking, and Pro has begun rolling out, starting with paid plans. In the API, they are available now to all developers.

Google: Supporting the web with new features and partnerships

Google is rolling out Preferred Sources globally, more prominent inline links in AI Mode, and a faster, expanded Web Guide. They’re also piloting AI-era partnerships with publishers, testing AI-powered article overviews, audio briefings in Google News, and real-time news data feeding Gemini.

Google hit with EU antitrust investigation over use of online content for AI

The European Commission said it was probing whether Google had breached EU competition rules by using the content of web publishers for AI purposes. The bloc said it would investigate to what extent the generation of AI Overviews and AI Mode by Google is based on web publishers’ content without appropriate compensation.
